Artist Biography
Michelle Luther works mainly in gouache and egg tempera, with her subject matter consisting of interior spaces and landscapes. Michelle’s paintings aim to portray the aura of the spaces that hold her attention. Through composition, color relationships, and process, she conveys the observational and emotional essence of these scenes. Michelle graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2023 from the University of West Florida. She has exhibited in group exhibitions nationally, such as The View Arts Center (Old Forge, New York) and the Mattie Kelly Arts Center (Niceville, FL). Michelle is also self taught in video editing software and has made videos since early 2025 to showcase her work online. She hopes to develop her skills to create more videos involving her work, as well helping other artists create their own media. She is currently the Chief Gallery Assistant at the Pensacola Museum of Art, one her most recent accomplishments is being a co-curator for The Poetics of Painting: A Celebration of the Lineage and Legacy of John Markowitz.
Michelle is pursuing opportunities to show her work nationally and internationally along with deepening her understanding of painting.
